Route 66 Tours - Driven

Enter Title

Route 66 is one of the most famous road trip journeys in the world, covering close to 4,000 kilometres across eight states and three time zones. These numbers would suggest the best way to explore this part of the United States would be by driving, but that is not always the case.

If you're interested in seeing the sights and sounds of the real Route 66, but don't want to or can't drive - the team at Route 66 Tours can look after you. With an experienced and friendly Route 66 tour guide behind the wheel, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sights.

Want to know more about what a driven tour includes? Here's exactly what you need to know.

What is a driven tour?

As the name suggests, a driven tour takes the stress out of travel. We'll pick you up from the airport and from there begin our epic Route 66 adventure.

Our driven vehicles are either large SUVs or well-equipped vans that can accommodate up to four passengers and their luggage. These vehicles are hired by trusted rental companies - highlighting our commitment to your safety, comfort and enjoyment. All vehicles come with 24/7 roadside service and have passed all mandatory safety checks in the United States. Travel insurance is not included as part of the tour.

One of the greatest benefits of joining a driven tour with Route 66 Tours is that large vehicles can get off the beaten track. Instead of relying on interstate highways that connect major towns, we can drive you to those small towns and locations that represent the real Route 66. See the best places that the tour buses can't go, and do it all from the passenger's seat!

Why a driven tour?

  • Avoid left hand drive

At Route 66 Tours, we appreciate that not everyone can or is willing to drive this road trip. Here are some of the advantages of joining a driven tour compared to a self-drive journey.

In the United States, motorists drive on the right-hand side of the road. If you're used to driving on the left in Australia, this can make quite a difference and impact your confidence on the open highway.

By allowing our expert tour guide to lead the way, you don't have to worry about traffic, road conditions, navigating or even changing the radio station - there's nothing to distract you from the incredible scenery!

  • See Route 66 without the right licence

Route 66 and road trips are a perfect match, but if you don't have the right type of licence or are yet to obtain your licence, you might think you can't see the beauty of the American countryside. However, this is why we offer driven tours!

  • Learn Route 66 secrets

Route 66 is packed full of stories, experiences and secrets that very few visitors know about. Having spent decades out on the road, our guided tour teams have learnt a thing or two and can let you in on why a particular location is so special.

Whether it's a historical spot off the beaten track, an obscure hotel or another quirky landmark, you're bound to come away from a driven tour with a new passion for Route 66.

If you would like more information about our driven tours along Route 66, get in touch with our helpful team today - we'll be more than happy to discuss your options.
